On my operation, we celebrate Earth Day every day by serving as environmental stewards. Annually, we do a lot of things that exemplify what Earth Day is all about, and I bet you do, too. We practice rotational grazing, manage noxious weeds, encourage wildlife development, plant trees, grow a garden, graze on crop residues, follow a waste management plan, and even adopt a highway to clean up as a part of our 4-H club. As farmers and ranchers, we take care of the earth every single day. Share your environmental story in the comments section below. How are you an environmentalist? How are you celebrating Earth Day?
Spread the good news that agriculturalists are the original environmentalists with as many people as you can today. Reference these great resources to use as you write a letter to the editor, tweet a positive link or chat with a consumer at the grocery store. Thanks for all the amazing things you do to care for our environment, farmers and ranchers. We were "green" way before it was cool!
