I would like to extend very happy Thanksgiving wishes to all of the BEEF Daily readers out there. It's truly been a blessed year, and I know I don't show my gratitude often enough. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the BEEF community; it's so rewarding to have thoughtful conversations with all of you, where we swap ideas and share life experiences through the blog on a daily basis. I've learned so much from the many readers who tune into the blog -- seasoned ranchers, lobbyists, politicians, retailers, foodies, vegetarians, vegans, photographers, students and families. Your diversity makes this blog a great one, and I thank you for your support and readership.
More than this blog, I'm thankful for so many things in 2010: my new husband Tyler, our wonderful families, strong friendships, good health, growing faith, pride in the country and food security. I'm thankful for the opportunity to work with my hands and create a legacy around the land and the livestock that run on it. I'm thankful for the legions of farmers and ranchers who keep doing what they do best -- growing an abundance of safe, affordable and wholesome food for the world. Most of all, I'm thankful for this agriculture community; your values in faith, family and farming are what make you all so great. Happy Thanksgiving! Let's celebrate the abundance of a great fall harvest!
Speaking of fall harvest, today was supposed to be the day I revealed the winners of the BEEF Daily Fall Harvest Photography Contest. More than 100 entries were considered before being narrowed down to the finalists. Readers sent in their votes, and the announcement was scheduled for today.
