Earlier this summer, my friends with the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Auxiliary gave me this Sur La Table Meatball Grilling Basket, along with an apron. They also told me that they were expecting another food recipe video ASAP, similar to the one I previewed this summer. That video, entitled “Fire It Up!,” featured the chef-inspired recipe – Sirloins Stuffed with Sautéed Shrimp Topped with Basil, Garlic Butter and Sugar-Grilled Asparagus. Although I haven't had a spare minute to create a new video using my new grilling tools, I thought I better offer a product review because it's on sale and summer grilling season is drawing to a close. I've used this basket several times over the course of the summer, and it always wows my guests. Most recently, I whipped up a wide-array of meatball ingredients, so my friends and family could select from a variety of options at my end-of-summer barbecue and bonfire. The list of ingredients I threw together included: swiss, pepperjack and cheddar cheese, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, pickles, bacon, barbecue sauce, salsa, taco seasoning, garlic, basil, tomatoes and even zucchini. The possibilities are endless, especially if you have a ton of produce left from your garden to eat up! Just place meat, vegetables, sauces and cheeses in bowls and let your guests mix-and-match their favorites to make their own unique creations. This is a fun way to entertain a crowd.
