BOZEMAN, MT. Sarah J. (Sally) Buxkemper, Ballinger, TX, has been recognized with the prestigious 2009 World Simmental Fleckvieh Federation (WSFF) Golden Book Award.
Sally Buxkemper, owner of RX Simbrah in Ballinger, is widely acknowledged for her persistent and insightful leadership within the cattle industry and in particular, for the Simmental and Simbrah breeds. She has worked diligently to establish Simbrah, both domestically and internationally.
“Sally’s opinions and ideas are highly sought and she is very much respected by her fellow breeders, commercial customers and business associates” says Dr. Jerry Lipsey, Executive Vice President of the American Simmental Association (ASA). He goes on to say, “Sally has done outstanding work promoting the international market by leading several trade missions to Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Panama, Uruguay and South Africa.” Buxkemper also served two terms on the ASA Board of Trustees and remains active through committee work and regular attendance at Association meetings.
Presentation of the 2009 Golden Book Award was made at the Chairman’s Reception during the ASA Annual Meeting and Convention, January 31, in Fort Worth.
The American Simmental Association is headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, and maintains the breed registries for the Simmental and Simbrah breeds of cattle. ASA has an active adult and junior membership of nearly 8,000.
