Meat Market Update | Average Choice cutout continues higher

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, Texas, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.

The Average Choice cutout continued to get higher even though the daily spot Choice cutout declined a little.  Also, the volume of sales increased as buyers ordered product to refill shelves after Memorial Day sales along with booking product in the out-front sales for the Fourth of July holiday. The Choice primal Rib and Loin prices continued to improve reflecting the fact that grilling steak sales were good.
