Meat Market Update | Boost in sales is positive for feedlots

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.

The Daily Choice Cutout has been improving which helped to slow down the falling Comprehensive or Weekly Average Choice cutout. The bigger out-front sales from two mid-July weeks that together totaled about 2,500 loads are destined to be delivered soon. Those out-front sales along with 3,300-3,500 loads per week of regular formula sales has pointed toward a more positive note for feedlots which helped support higher prices.
