Meat Market Update | Comprehensive Choice Cutout Sets New Record High

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.

The Comprehensive Choice Cutout set a new record high and jumped over $5.25 for the week ending August 2.

The increase in the cutout was supported again by the fact that the Round and Chuck primal cut prices jumped dramatically, along with the higher cow beef prices as demand for ground product continues.
