Meat Market Update | Daily Choice Cutout climbs $10

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.

The Daily Choice Cutout climbed $10.33 during the week and the Average Choice Cutout was $2.33 higher; both following the 2014 graph pattern that included an early grilling season decline.

Additionally, the out-front sales were close to a 1,000 loads and most of the average prices for the biggest out-front sales were higher than the average formula prices. This is one of the few times this year that a big portion of the out-front sales have been priced higher than the current average formula prices.
