Meat Market Update | Exports and out-front sales push volume higher

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.

The Comprehensive Choice cutout was $1.20 lower but volume jumped up almost 500 loads. The boost in volume was led by exports and out-front sales.

Choice middle meats ,which are loin and rib products (steak meat), were $3 higher. This is consistent with their typical annual seasonal price increase at the beginning of the grilling season.
