The North Dakota Stockmen's Association and North Dakota Stockmen's Foundation have created a drought-relief fund. The groups are asking for donations to the Hope for the Heartland fund to help North Dakota ranchers offset drought-related expenses.

"Cattle-ranching families work for generations to build their herds, and we want to do all that we can to help them keep them together and work through a challenging time,” says NDSF President Steve Brooks, Bowman, N.D.

"Together, we can help North Dakota cattle ranchers recover some of their extra expenses and reclaim hope after an incredibly difficult year,” said NDSA President Warren Zenker, Gackle, N.D.

Donations will be distributed in their entirety in early 2018 through an application and selection process. A selection committee comprised of North Dakota ranchers will choose recipients based on need.

Monetary contributions can be made by sending a check to Hope for the Heartland fund, North Dakota Stockmen's Foundation, 407 S. Second St., Bismarck, ND 58504. NDSF is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Donations can be deducted as charitable contributions for income tax purposes.
