Wildfires broke out this week in Kansas, but they weren’t near as bad as last year’s fires. A little more than week from now there should be rain in the plains.

State Farm in Bloomington, Illinois, had a layoff for the first time in many years. Seen as very stable employer, State Farm has been around for 96 years.

There’s news of a possible White House meeting next week to discuss biofuels policy. Trump is not expected to attend the meeting. Executives from oil and corn industry will be participating. Big Oil and Big Corn will be meeting and key lawmakers may attend to.

It’s time change weekend. Did it spring up on you? This mess started 100 years ago this month. It was during World War I in an attempt to save coal.
