Kuhn Announces Acquisition

Kuhn North America, Inc., of Brodhead, Wisconsin, announces the acquisition by the KUHN Group of the crop packaging division of Kverneland Group with its factory located in Geldrop, Netherlands. This facility specializes in the design and manufacturing of fixed- and variable-chamber round balers, big square balers, bale wrappers, rotary drum mowers, tedder-rake combinations and corn choppers.

The addition of these new product lines, particularly the wide range of balers, bale wrappers and drum mowers, ideally complements Kuhn’s current product offering. Kuhn will additionally benefit from entering these markets with a highly qualified research and development, and manufacturing facility in the field of baling. All of this will help reinforce Kuhn’s position in the hay and forage equipment business specifically, and enable the company to continue its advances in the agricultural machinery sector as a whole.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009. There will then be a transition period of up to two years, during which these products will be simultaneously sold under the Kuhn brand name and also through the Kverneland network.

Kuhn North America is a leading innovator in the field of agricultural and industrial equipment, specializing in spreaders, mixers, hay tools and tillage tools. Kuhn and Kuhn Knight products are sold through farm equipment dealers throughout the United States, Canada, and many other countries.
