Last chance to vote in BEEF’s photo contest
Courtney Varner

This week, our family has been enjoying some unseasonably warm weather. We’ve grilled and eaten suppers outside. We’ve done chores together as a family, with our two kids, Scarlett and Thorne, getting involved with feeding weaned calves and barn cats. We’ve cleaned out the garden in preparation for winter. We’ve socked away summer toys and supplies. We’ve mowed the lawn, fixed fence and sold some calves.

We’ve certainly kept busy, but we’ve been active as a family, and that’s what makes it so great. In October, BEEF and Twisted X teamed up to celebrate ranch work and ranch life with a photo contest. We received nearly 200 entries and narrowed down the images to 20 finalists.

Then we asked our readers to help select the best photos. The champion will receive a pair of Twisted X driving moccasins and reserve will take home a $50 VISA gift card. Voting commenced earlier this week, and voters could make selections daily to help their favorite photographer win.

This contest has been a ton of fun so far, and I think it’s been our most successful one yet. Today, we’re wrapping voting up, so you have one more chance to boost your top pick into the running for the grand prizes. Voting ends at noon, and as a thank you to those who took the time to vote, we’re giving away three western coffee table books to randomly selected voters.

The winners will be announced on Monday, but don’t wait — take a minute to vote one last time and rally the troops to help secure the championship for your favorite photo.
