Meat Market Update | Grilling season rally begins

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, Texas, offers a concise summary of how last week's beef trade impacted the cattle market and beef prices.

The weekly average Choice cutout was only 44 cents lower but the daily Choice cutout started the normal spring grilling season rally, jumping $2.86 by last Friday then another $4 by Wednesday, February 22nd. The daily Choice rib primal climbed $7 in just four working days (Friday through Wednesday) which along with Choice loin increases started the grilling season rally.
