Meat Market Update | No suprises as grilling season rally continues

The Choice cutout rally continues to be driven by the demand for Choice Rib and Loin steaks which is normal each spring during the grilling season. The Choice Select spread has started to widen again like last year when it climbed to over $20 between Memorial Day and Father's Day based on the demand for Choice steak meat items. Another item that has really seen a good spring rally has been the fifty percent trimmings which are used to make hot dogs and sausage items for the ball park season, as well as grilling. When you look at the comparison graphs of these key items you can see that they are definitely following normal seasonal type rallies and should not surprise anyone.
