Meat Market Update | Prices turn mid-week, still close $8 lower

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, Texas, offers a concise summary of how last week's beef trade impacted the cattle market and beef prices.

The weekly average Choice box beef cutout dropped down to $206.20 which was $8.30 lower following the daily Choice cutout moving lower the last few weeks. However the daily Choice cutout started to make a turnaround on Tuesday, April 11th, and that type of a turnaround trend has normally happened as we get deeper into the grilling season and closer to the Memorial Day sales period.
