Weekly Cattle Market Wrap-Up | Feeder cattle, slaughter cows come to town

There was a very big run of 9,400 head of cows at our test auctions and prices were quoted from steady to 7 dollars lower depending on just how big the runs were in the different regions.

Feeder cattle had the biggest run in quite a while with over 50,000 head of feeder cattle at the test auctions which was 18,000 head over last week but only 2,000 head over last year. Prices for yearling feeders were steady to $5 lower but calf prices held up better as a whole but some auctions had some significant declines.

Slaughter cows very big run also. There was a very big run of 9,400 head of cows at our test auctions and prices were quoted from steady to $7 lower depending on just how big the runs were in the different regions,
