Is Your Mineral Program Drought Proof? Tweaks You May Need To Consider

While a mineral program is essential all the time, it's even more important during a drought, says Justin Waggoner, K-State Extension Beef Systems Specialist in Garden City. That's because, without any green-up in the spring, range plants can't deliver the phosphorus and vitamin A that cows need. So take a look at your mineral program with an eye toward tweaking it to compensate for drought-caused deficiencies.
