Preserve your possessions, pass your assets on to the next generation and lessen the tax burden. These are just a few of the reasons partners in agriculture, business managers, producers, farm homemakers, absentee landlords and helpers are encouraged to attend the upcoming Women in Agriculture Workshop.

The workshop will be at 5:45 p.m., April 10, at the Hays Agriculture Research Center Auditorium in Hays, KS.

Workshop presenters will be Mary Lou Odle with the Central Kansas Extension District in Saline County giving a presentation on "Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate?" Odle has been involved with the State Women Managing the Farm Conference since its inception and has presented at several state conferences.

Stacy Campbell, Ellis County Extension agriculture agent, will show some key resources available to enhance management skills of your agricultural operation, with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Concluding the evening will be Stacey Seibel with Seibel Law Office explaining the essential elements of a sound estate plan. Seibel's focus is on helping people preserve hard-earned assets by various estate-planning tools in an effort to avoid probate and minimize death taxes.

This workshop is intended for women who are involved in agriculture. Sponsors for the workshop are Ellis County Conservation District, K-State Research and Extension, Ellis County, Ellis County Farm Bureau, Farm Service Agency and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. A free meal will be served courtesy of the sponsors.
