One of my favorite blog posts is one I wrote in November 2008 about the infamous blizzard of 1997 -- the one that hit the Dakotas in a violent fury, killing hundreds of thousands of cattle in its wake. At 10 years old, I learned a lot of tough lessons that winter. I learned the importance of hard work, sacrifice, responsibility and putting the needs of the animals before my own.
In focusing on preparing for winter this week on the blog, I have enjoyed looking at my previous writings on snow. Boy, have I written a lot about blizzards!
