Welcome to the new BEEF magazine website! I hope you like the new look and that you find the site easy to navigate through. As always, we will continue to focus on the issues and topics that are most important to you -- cattle prices, export markets, retail trends, animal nutrition and health, activist activities and industry news.
Since this blog launched in Sept. 2008, we have quickly grown a great community forum to share ideas, pass along advice, offer seasoned wisdom and chat about our passion for the beef industry. Over the years, you have watched as I graduated college, made the decision to move back to the ranch, fell in love, got married, bought cattle, published a children's book and experienced the highs and lows of a challenging, yet exciting career in production agriculture.
It's you that makes this community valuable, and even though I'm the regular blogger around here, I learn so much from reading your comments and emails. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your participation, and I have a favor to ask.
With the new site, your old log-in and password is old news. Please, take a moment to register once again and create a new login and password. It only takes a minute, and it will help ensure the effectiveness of our online community as we transition to the new site.
And to thank you for your extra effort and to celebrate the new site, we are having a little giveaway! Just leave us a comment below once you are registered with your name and how long you have been a BEEF Daily reader, and we will enter you to win Great Ranches Of The West with photography by Jim Keen. We will take comments until Monday night and announce the winner on Tuesday's blog. Good luck!
Once again, welcome to the new website. Take a look around and let me know what you think!
P.S. I plan to celebrate the new launch in a big way, with $500 in VISA Beef Bucks prizes, sponsored by the SD Cattlemen's Auxiliary. To get involved, be sure to start gathering your photos for the upcoming "Winter Wonderland On The Ranch" Photo Contest to launch sometime next week! Stay tuned for details.
