JBS S.A.'s board of directors has appointed Joesley Batista as board chairman and Wesley Batista as president and CEO, effective Feb. 1.

Joesley Batista has been leading the growth and internationalization of the company for the last five years, serving as chairman and CEO. He appointed Wesley Batista to replace him as CEO, according to a JBS press statement.

Wesley Batista has 22 years of experience with the Brazilian company, initially running its South American beef business before transferring to the United States in 2007 to become CEO of JBS USA based in Greeley.
