2017 Seedstock 100 by the numbers

This year’s list, based on number of bulls marketed, comprises:

  • 102 seedstock operations marketing 205 bulls or more

  • 54,699 bulls

  • Operations from 24 states, led by Montana (16 operations); Nebraska (16), South Dakota (13) and Kansas (9)

  • 21 breeds and commonly recognized hybrids and composites. Angus was marketed by 74% of the Seedstock 100, followed by Red Angus (20%), Hereford (16%), Sim-Angus (12%) and Charolais (11%).

  • 12 proprietary and/or less familiar hybrids and composites
