Wulf Cattle 25th Opportunity Sale Of 2013

wulf cattle saleFor the 25th year in a row, Wulf Cattle hosted their spring sale of Limousin and LimFlex seedstock genetics. As a result of the purchase of a registered Angus operation, a select offering of Angus genetics were added to the sale offering.

One hundred seventy-seven buyers, representing 24 states and five Canadian provinces made for a very competitive bidding environment throughout the day.

Magness Land and Cattle, Platteville, CO, had the winning bid on the high selling bull, Wulfs Yellowhammer Y359Y. This noted Limousin operation paid $46,000 for two-thirds interest in this outstanding son of Wulfs Upgrade 0500U. Diamond C Limousin, Neil Christianson, Ponoka, Alberta, Canada, “zeroed” in on Wulfs Zero Turn X292Z to purchase the next high selling bull. Christianson outlasted all competition and paid $20,000 for two-thirds interest. Another two-thirds interest was Lot 1, Wulfs Zane X238Z , a powerful son of Wulfs Xclusive 2458X, selling to Southern Cattle Co., Marianna, FL, Tubmill Creek, New Florence, PA, and Highland Stock Farms, Olds, AB, Canada, for $19,000.

The two top selling Angus bulls were Lot 26 and 27, each selling two-thirds interest to Hunt Limousin, Oxford, NE, and Moser Family Limousin & Angus, Morris, MN, for $13,500 respectively.

Due to the expansion of Wulf Cattle operations, the reduced female offering consisted of 47 elite open Limousin and LimFlex heifers. Lot 355, Wulfs Zarelyn 2692Z was the top selling female selected by Southern Cattle Co. and Tichenor Farms, Centertown, KY. This partnership paid $10,250 to own a superb daughter of Wulfs Xclusive. Englewood Farms, Lexington, KY, purchased the second top selling female with a winning bid of $9,000 for Lot 362, Wulfs Zintley 2145Z, a halfblood LimFlex daughter of SAV Final Answer 0035. There was considerable interest for Lot 354, Wulfs Zirconia 2156Z. Circle R Limousin, Steve Revell, Jacksonville, FL, outlasted the bidding competition to own this Warbonnet daughter for $8,500.

Volume bull buyers included Meyer Ranch, Flasher, ND, Wayne Hepper, Bismarck, ND and Todd & Warbonnet Ranches, Willcox, AZ, Broken Arrow S Ranch, McLaughlin, SD, Diamond V Ranch, Selfridge, ND and Roth Limousin, Redfield, SD.

Wulf Cattle was host to a dinner and an educational seminar the evening prior to the sale. Wulf Cattle team members presented information about the core focus of the operation and the expanded opportunities within the industry as well as for Wulf customers.
