The BEEF Crew Is Denver Bound!

2011convention_125×125-animated.gif You see the familiar faces of the BEEF magazine writers and editors each day online and each month in the pages of the print edition. Now, you can meet up with the crew in person! The gang is headed to the 2011 Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Denver, CO, on Feb. 1-5, and we are excited to catch up with ranchers from across the country.

Stop by our trade show booth and visit with staff members. At our booth, you can also participate in our photography contest and vote for your favorite BEEF Daily photographer of the year. Cool prizes will be given to the best photo and to voters, as well!

rubes.gif For the past three years, BEEF magazine has featured the zany humor of cartoonist Leigh Rubin on the “BEEF Xpress” page of our printed issue. If you’re a fan of his Rubes cartoon and are attending the convention this week, you can catch Rubin in two venues. Besides exhibiting on the trade show floor, Rubin will be speaking at the Denver Press Club at 1330 Glenarm Pl. at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3 (call 303-571-5260 for more info). At that Denver Press Club engagement, Rubin will be presenting “A Twisted Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste” and boasts that the presentation is “free and worth every penny.” Take a look at some of Rubin’s work in BEEF magazine here. Just click on “Rubes Cartoons.” By the way, you’ll also find a selection of cartoons by Wally Badgett (“Earl”) and G.L. Holmes (“Pickens County Cowboys”).

Here's the chance to meet Montana's Bill Donald, the incoming National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) president. Read BEEF's feature on Donald here, and check out the video interview with the new NCBA president here.

Whether you see one of us at a speaker session or walking around the trade show, please don't hesitate to stop and say hello. We are keen to hear more about your priorities in the beef cattle business in the hopes of better serving you in the future. And, if you aren't going to the convention, don't worry; we will be providing timely coverage on the happenings of the event throughout the week on the blog, on our Facebook page and with twitter updates. Just follow BEEF and #NCBA11. Stay tuned! Hope to see you there!
