Swing by a sale barn these days, and you're likely to find a lineup of trailers waiting to unload anything and everything they've got. Cattle sales have been hot these days, and it's hard to believe there are going to be any producers left with the large sales across the country! Are folks getting out while the going is good? Or, are producers feeling optimistic about the future of beef production?
On the home page of the BEEF website is a poll for you to participate in. The poll asks, "When do you think cattle prices will return to pre-recession levels?" So far, 457 of you have voted in the poll, which shows 40% of you believe the markets will continue to improve this year. Go ahead and participate in the poll and share your thoughts.
Now, the next question is, how long will this last? What do you anticipate the rest of the summer looking like for beef prices? What is your outlook for the fall? Are you buying or selling? Let's swap notes!
