NEW Spring Calving Photo Contest

There’s nothing better at the end of a long day of work than watching baby calves race across the pasture. One of the first lessons I learned on the ranch is the circle of life, and calving season is the start of it all -- with new animals blessing the ranch each spring. Today, I’m launching a new photography contest celebrating this special time of the year, sponsored by Farm Boy Authentic Brand.

Farm Boy and Farm Girl brands were established in 1994 by Midwest farm boys, Dan Adamson and Brian Goldenman, who wanted to capture the heartfelt pride and meaningful connections of farming and rural life.

Because today’s consumer is three generations removed from the family farm, let’s show them what life as a cattle rancher is all about. By compiling a photo gallery of baby calves -- whether they’re snoozing in the calf shelter, hiding behind mama’s leg or frolicking in the hills with their pals -- we can help consumers fall in love with agriculture as you and I already have. Let’s share the tradition of cattle ranching with the world! We will compile entries into a photo gallery and video to be shared through your favorite social media sites, so stay tuned!

Send me your best photo (one entry/person please) to [email protected] by Saturday, April 21. Finalists will be announced April 23, with voting to go through April 28. Winners will be announced on April 30.
