Meat Market Update | Grilling season rally pushes cutout higher

The normal seasonal grilling rally continues pushing the Choice cutout higher on the backs of the ongoing big rally for the Choice primal rib and Choice primal loin. Both of these two primals have rallied over $50 in the last couple of weeks in the daily spot trade. Also the year-to-date box beef sales have totaled about 3280 more loads than last year which converts to roughly 130 million more lbs. of beef sold this year than last, and was helped primarily by a big jump in out-front sales this year.
