The daily spot Choice box beef cutout ended the week on Friday, May 22 at $396.74 which was $37.58 lower compared to previous Friday. Again to offer perspective, it may be lower week over week but it is still extremely high prices. Last year it was $221.64 the same Friday, which was about $1 higher last year. The daily Choice cutout continued to drop lower and was $385.49 on Tuesday, May 26 so it will also continue to push the weekly average Choice cutout lower which follows the daily cutout more slowly.

The weekly average Choice cutout, which includes all types of sales including the daily Choice cutout, was $396.85 which was $26.38 lower following the previous week’s big drop in the daily cutout.  But it's still drastically higher than in the past.

The big news this week was there were 5,356 total loads sold for the week which was 789 loads higher than the previous week.
