The daily spot Choice box beef cutout ended the week at $205.47, which was $2.21 higher compared to previous Friday. Last year, it was $216.37. The cutout did continue to climb higher ahead of the upcoming grilling holiday and was $208.08 on Tuesday, August 11. However, last year saw a very big jump higher because of that big packing plant fire, so it is now a little higher than most of the previous years, except 2019.

There were 6,412 total loads sold for the week which was 616 loads lower than the previous week and the first week below 7,000 loads in a while. The exports, as reported on the Box Beef report, were 787 loads. That was 333 loads lower compared to the previous week. A total of 146 loads were sold to our NAFTA neighbors and  641 loads went overseas.
