Meat Market Update | Cutout drops are moderate compared to previous years

Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.
The weekly average choice cutout dropped only 97 cents last week for a total of roughly about $9 since late in January. It has started to moderate the very dramatic declines that we have seen in previous years. Last year, we dropped $18 from the end of January the end of February and in 2014 we dropped $19.
