Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News reporter in Amarillo, TX, provides us with the latest outlook on boxed beef prices and the weekly cattle trade.
The Comprehensive Choice Cutout was $8.93 lower this week, and volume did not improve and was down about 168 loads.
Thus far this year, the cutout has dropped about $29 since the last week of August and around $47 since the week before Memorial Day. We are definitely following last year's late summer plunge, but at a much lower level.
