6 ways the beef checkoff is encouraging consumers to take the 30 Day Protein Challenge
April 6, 2015
Forget the latest diet fad and try out the 30 Day Protein Challenge. The beef checkoff has launched an entire page on the www.beefitswhatsfordinner.com website that’s dedicated to the 30 Day Protein Challenge.
Here are six ways the fun program is encouraging consumers (and ranchers, too) to get involved:
1. Sign up for updates.
Get daily motivation straight to your inbox by signing up on the website. According to the site, “One small change in your diet can make a big difference in the way you feel. Sign up to receive daily emails with goals, tips and inspiration to keep you on track.”
Subscribe now to Cow-Calf Weekly to get the latest industry research and information in your inbox every Friday!
2. Follow the 30 Day Protein Challenge plan.
It’s not a gimmick; it’s a way to rethink how you eat. I think this program will be a great reminder to consumers that they should aim to get more protein in their meals each and every day. According to the site, “The challenge is a fun, step-by-step way to help you get an optimal amount of protein throughout your day. Significant research shows that some people can lose and/or maintain a healthy weight, support a healthy metabolism, and age more vibrantly when they consume more high-quality protein, within calorie goals.”
3. Learn about the benefits of protein in the diet.
The checkoff site shares with readers the many benefits of beef. For example, a 3-oz. serving of beef provides 25 grams of protein and 10 essential nutrients in one tasty package.
Check out the benefits of protein here.
4. Explore beef recipes.
Consumers are encouraged to check out the collection of beef recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. See the recipes here.
5. Check out these tools for success.
From a protein cheat sheet, to meal ideas, to tips for adding more protein to meals and snacks, the checkoff site has everything consumers will need to be successful in their 30 days of eating more protein.
6. Talk about it on social media.
Use and follow the hashtag #ProteinChallenge to be a part of the conversation. Follow the Twitter discussion here.
I’m really impressed with this new campaign, and I think it has the potential to really take off. Let’s encourage consumers to choose beef and take the 30 Day Protein Challenge. Pass along this program to friends and family and let’s help this checkoff-funded program be a huge success!
