The National Corn Growers Association wasn’t impressed by the Anheuser Busch Super Bowl ad that was meant to portray Bud Light’s ingredients of water, barley, rice and hops as superior, Fortune reports.
The ad lit up Twitter, with commentary continuing the day after.
First, here’s the ad.
Here’s the National Corn Growers Association response to the ad.
.@BudLight America’s corn farmers are disappointed in you. Our office is right down the road! We would love to discuss with you the many benefits of corn! Thanks @MillerLight and @CoorsLite for supporting our industry. https://t.co/6fIWtRdeeM

Here’s some of the back and forth on Twitter.
Use corn and support American farmers! Use cheap foreign rice and you get @budlight https://t.co/lWA1qPcsbH

I've been wondering how to get a list of all the corn farmers on Twitter. @budlight did it for me.

C’mon @budlight you’re using rice for the glucose so the yeast has a fermentable sugar to consume; just as other brewers are using corn for the glucose. If corn glucose is bad why isn’t rice glucose? Don’t use fear to sell your products, it’s not cool anymore. #BoycottBudlight

Thanks @budlight for alienating about 90% of your agricultural customers who formerly bought Bud Light. I will be buying all Coors Light and Miller Lite from now on. #WeGrowCorn
