There’s a place I go to seek my Lord.
We meet ‘most every day
in a vast, great green cathedral
where I worship Him and pray.
He’s always there, just waiting,
in every kind of weather.
My God and I spend countless hours
in His great outdoors together
I find Him on the prairie,
in woods and farmland field.
Throughout this whole creation
His glory is revealed.
The fragrance of His being
pervades the new-mown hay.
We fellowship together,
and He guides me on my way.
His voices rides on the thunder
as it rumbles through the air.
In all of my surroundings,
I find His presence there.
He whispers softly to me
as leaves stir in the breeze.
He made this land; He made me
and the horses between my knees.
As the cattle graze, contended,
across lush pasture lands,
I know this scene was sculpted
by my Master’s loving hands.
Yes, He’s always at the church house
where my congregation meets,
and there are those who find Him
on the cluttered city streets.
And I know He watches over
the sailor out to sea.
But, in that green cathedral,
He’s waiting there for me.
For it’s in the green cathedral,
He’s waiting there for me.
For it’s in the green cathedral
that we meet ‘most every day,
that lovely green cathedral
where I worship Him and pray.
