Beef x Dairy Survey

Kansas State University is conducating a survey designed to enhance the understanding of the beef x dairy market, specifically focusing on the underlying motivations driving adoption, the various marketing methods utilized, and producers' willingness to pay for select beef genetic attributes as indicated by EPD (Expected Progeny Difference) selection. By exploring these factors, they aim to illuminate the decision-making processes of adopting producers and their expectations regarding selection criteria.

Purpose of the Study
The goal of the study is to gain a deeper understanding of adopting producers and their selection decisions in relation to their expectations. The findings from this survey will provide valuable insights for:

  • Dairy Producers: Understanding how dairy producers' willingness to pay may differ from others in the market.

  • Beef Producers at the Seedstock Level: Tailoring marketing strategies and production decisions to better target dairy producers.

  • Cattle Feeders vs. Beef x Dairy Producers: Illustrating differences in selection priorities to inform management practices.

Eligibility
Please note they are currently seeking participation exclusively from dairy producers.
