Simplot Animal Sciences has announced Samuel Etay, Ph.D., has joined its in vitro fertilization (IVF) team as a research scientist.

In this role, Etay will work to improve efficiency of Simplot’s IVF system, enhance the quality of in vitro-produced beef embryos and ultimately improve pregnancy outcomes.

“Sammy’s expertise and understanding of bovine reproduction will be a massive resource to our team. His hands-on research experience will help our team to enhance the quality of our in vitro embryo program and help to move HerdFlex and other offerings forward,” says Simplot Animal Sciences Manager Brady Hicks. “We are thrilled to have him on our team.”

Etay earned a doctorate degree in mammalian reproductive biology from the University of Bonn, Germany. His previous work focused specifically on bovine reproduction, with a concentration on understanding the molecular regulatory mechanisms of follicular development and preimplantation embryo development.

Etay is eager to bring his years of experience in bovine reproduction to the Simplot Animal Science team to advance their research and development program.
