Max Armstrong offers some history on just how long farmers have been working on conservation

Max Armstrong share how farmers have worked on conservation for more than 80 years. He reports that it started April 27, 1935, which recognized the "wastage of soil and moisture resources on farm grazing and forest lands is a menace to national welfare." This established what was then called the Soil Conservation Service, which is today called the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Max shares more of the history, including the first chief of the SCS.
