Max Armstrong shares the challenge of broadband web access in rural areas

Max Armstrong looks back on technology that's long gone – the acoustic coupler, which was slow. But the speed of the Internet isn't much better in the country these days. Max shares insight from the Texas Farm Bureau on the need to high-speed Internet to conduct business. The Federal Communications Commission estimates that 39% of the country lacks access to high-speed broadband, which is now critical not only for business, but for school and daily life.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
