Max Armstrong reports that based on rising demand for renewable diesel the industry will need more soybeans, a lot more soybeans

December 20, 2021

Max Armstrong shares that economists are working to figure out how many acres of soybeans farmers may plant in 2022. Based on new data soybean production will have to grow by 3.5 billion bushels in the next nine years with the rise of renewable diesel. The push for this fuel source is driving construction of new facilities, and raising demand well beyond current production.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
