Max Armstrong offers a look at the declining use of medically important antimicrobial products in the livestock industry.

Max Armstrong discusses medicines used for humans and livestock to prevent and treat diseases. But the challenge of resistance is increasing. In animal agriculture the use of antimicrobials is declining. The use of medically important antimicrobials in livestock have remained at reduced sales, which were down by 38% in 2021 versus 2015. Max shares that the animal health industry supporting judicious use of these products involves correct reporting of data from the industry.

Max Armstrong's Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
