Max Armstrong offers insight on the value of beef cattle at a time when some are calling for the end of beef consumption

Max Armstrong looks at the move by folks to eliminate beef with insight from Tryon Wickersham who has spent his entire career studying cattle, which he says are an essential part of the environment. Wickersham is a professor of animal nutrition at Texas A&M University. Wickersham notes that if beef is eliminated something else will have to take its place and that too will have an environmental impact. Max offers insight on the key role of cattle who turn inedible protein found in grasses and turn it into high quality protein.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
