Max Armstrong offers some history of how soybean became a valuable crop over the last 100 years

Max Armstrong was surprised to learn that this year the American Soybean Association is celebrating its 100th anniversary. It was in 1920 that farmers formed the group for the crop which was difficult to grow given the many varieties that existed. Max shares the story of how the organization formed and created a market for the new crop.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
