Max Armstrong offers a look at the current state of the U.S. cattle market.

June 29, 2022

Max Armstrong reports on the strong season of beef demand. A key to the cattle market is the challenge of the drought area in the West. More than half of cattle are being raised under drought combined with high temperatures. Max shares that as of May feedlot inventories were up with a push of cattle out of pastures. And according to the economists of Rabobank slaughter numbers continue to rise while replacement heifer sales are falling. This could impact beef supply in the future.

Max Armstrong's Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
