Max Armstrong looks at the substantial gains in the price of beef in the supermarket, which is much higher than the price paid on the hoof. Max looks at a report from Scott Brown, livestock economist, University of Missouri, showing fed steer prices were up 19% above the same period in 2018 and 2019, but the retail beef price for the same period is up 27%. Max shares other factors impacting the retail to wholesale price spread.
