Max Armstrong shares insight on genome sequencing of a crop designed to counter pests and climate change

Max Armstrong takes a look a work being done on one crop that could help it resist disease and changing climate – the avocado. Max reports on work to sequence the avocado genome – both the Mexican and Haas versions – that will offer opportunities to breed better products. The researchers are looking at most types of breeding tools including genetic modification.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
