Max Armstrong shares news of a California court ruling that upholds imposition of in-state housing standards on pork and veal

Max Armstrong looks at a ban on veal and pork not raised according to housing rules set down by Proposition 12. And a court ruled against the livestock industry that appealed the new housing rules. The North American Meat Institute claims that the ban violates the commerce clause regarding out of state trade. NAMI is disappointed in the ruling and is reviewing its options. The Humane Society of the United States is, however, pleased by the ruling.

Farm Progress America is a daily look at key issues in agriculture. It is produced and presented by Max Armstrong, veteran farm broadcaster and host of This Week in Agribusiness.
