Markets sure did react to the news of the escalating trade war with China. Even as farmers thought prices couldn’t go any lower, they did with soybeans suffering double digit losses. Amid the trade war, some farmers are struggling to get into soggy fields.

Farm Tech expert Chad Colby has posed the same question on his Twitter account for three weeks now asking, “does the weather have your attention yet?” A week ago, about half the respondents said “the weather is what it is.” Now that number is down to 35%. Last week, 48% said weather was an issue. This week, 65% said weather is an issue. 41% said they can plant their crop is 5 to 10 days.

Farm organizations continue to react to escalation of trade war with China. Illinois Farm Bureau says farmers are on the front lines.

In what is believed to be first ship built in the Great Lakes Region for service on the Great Lakes is being built now in Wisconsin.
