A Nebraska prison parolee is under arrest again for the murder of a woman. He was released in June after 12 years in prison for attempted kidnapping and attack, and is being held without bail for suspicion of first degree murder.

Ahead of the Friday deadline, Politico is reporting that House Republican leaders are planning to adjourn the end of the is week until after the midterm elections. This means a farm bill vote could be on hold again.

Parts of Tennessee are still under a flood watch after several inches of rain fell over the weekend.

Beware of skimmers on ATMs and service station pumps.
