Check out today’s blog for ideas on how to celebrate agriculture this week and in the weeks ahead.

Meat In Day and National Ag Day have offered us a chance to loudly and proudly share our agricultural stories, but why do we have to wait for an arbitrary day to speak about food production on social media or in our communities?

Today’s blog offers insights on how folks are advocating for agriculture this week and beyond. Happy National Ag Week, and may you continue to be blessed as you share your passions of farming, ranching and food, fiber and energy production!

1. Meet My Neighbor

Videographers Charlie and Shauna Rankin started Meet My Neighbors Productions, In.c, in 2020. The company is a grassroots movement focused on educating, informing and connecting with audiences while helping to protect the future of agricultural production.

Published episodes have included features on bison, Brahman cattle, horses, hogs, sheep and gardening for survival. Check out what they are up to and submit video ideas here.

2. Zoetis is celebrating calving season

Share a new calf photo for a chance to win a survival kit. Just snap a quick picture and provide your information to be entered for a chance to win! The Zoetis kits are packed with tasty treats and useful gear to help you survive calving season. A new winner is picked every day.

3. National Ag Week kits are now available

To help you celebrate National Agriculture Week, March 21-27, 2021, staff from the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation and Nebraska Farm Bureau have compiled a resource kit for your county to make Ag Week planning, promotion, and celebration easy. The kit includes a list of ideas that can be used to celebrate National Ag Week including bookmarks with agricultural facts, placements, coloring pages, social media posts, newspaper ads and teacher activities.

4. National FFA celebrates Ag Week on farms, at school and in communities

This agricultural youth organization provides ideas and resources for a great Ag Week. These can be implemented far beyond this week of celebrating agriculture and can be used by kids and adults alike. Check out the list to get the creative juices flowing for outreach programs you may implement in your own communities!

5. Agriculture Council of America hosts virtual event

“Food brings everyone to the table” was the theme of this virtual event hosted by the Agriculture Council of America. With an essay contest and outreach events planned, you can view a video here to see exactly how this group is engaging with the general public this week.

Do you have anything unique or exciting to share that’s going on this week in your neck of the woods? I would love to hear about it! Email me at [email protected]  to share.
